I have established this web site basically because of the idea of reviving the concept of travel buddy as a class project. Prep R students are eager to take the buddy home so we are going to scheduled the students to have turns in taking the buddy home this week. At school or home students, parents and teachers can log onto this site and type in their recounts about the buddy. This will provide the opportunity for all parties to experience and adventure into the modern world of multimedia.
For me as the class teacher I am so excited about setting up this web site. Endeavouring to integrate ICT - (multimedia) as part of my teaching and learning practices in my own classroom. I am very much indebt to Mr Johnson Wavut (Koroboro ICT manager) and Mr. John Pokorop (Boroko East ICT Technician) for all their ICT expertise. I am still learning to navigate my way around and to understand the blog.
Prep R is a class at Boroko East International Primary at Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea.
There are thirty five students altogether. Fifteen girls and twenty boys. Most students are Papua New Guineans accept for three students who are from India.
The class age range from five to seven years. The difference in age is also an indication of the differences in learning stages in the class.
We have two desktops in the classroom which we is excessively used by the students. Their favourite programme is the students encarta. There is also a theme house in our class. We change the house decoration to dipict the unit of our study.
Our unit of study for this term is Fairy Tales.
Prep R has three sets of indentical twins. The pair from India are of different sex. The other pairs are boys from Papua New Guinea.
Mrs. Molong Rongap (class teacher) and Miss Gia Vanua (teacher aide) provides a wide range of learning experiences for these students. (See learning profile page for more information.)
